The first option is delicious and vegan! It’s so incredibly easy to make and so tasty you’ll be surviving on banana ice-cream all summer long. Bananas contain a fair amount of fiber, as well as several antioxidants, and together with chocolate, which will help with stress and blood pressure regulation. This ice-cream is sure to be your BFF in the summer heat.
½ coconut milk
Peel and dice the bananas. Put them in a freezer bag and freeze them completely. Once they are frozen, put them in a food processor, adding the chocolate chips, two tablespoons of cocoa powder and half a cup of coconut milk. Blend until smooth then pour the mixture out onto a tray and freeze again for two hours.
Once you are ready to eat, scoop the ice cream from the tray into a bowl. We suggest you add some slices of banana and sprinkle some chocolate chips on top.
Fro-Yo is the American version of gelato. They created their own version of ice cream and now it’s here for all of us to enjoy. Strawberries are a great source of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, while bananas will give you lots of energy and the Greek yogurt will make this mix a match made in heaven. This three-ingredient recipe will be a delight, trust us!
1 Greek Yogurt
Remove the leaves from the strawberry and cut them into halves before putting them in a freezer bag. Peel and dice the bananas, then put them in another freezer bag. Put both the strawberries and the bananas in the freezer and leave them there until completely frozen. Just like with the banana ice-cream, put the fruit and the Greek yogurt in a food processor and blend until completely mixed. Pour it out onto a tray and freeze again for two hours. Ready to eat? Take two scoops and decorate with some freshly chopped strawberries. Yummy!
Raspberry Peach sorbet
If you are looking for a more refreshing option, this sorbet might be the one you want. This frozen dessert is a great alternative to ice-cream. It’s perfect as a snack on a scorching summer afternoon. It’s also a great way to finish a big meal, as it helps digestion.
Ingredients (serves 12):
A handful of raspberries
½ a lime
Peel and dice the peaches before putting them in a freezer bag. Wash the raspberries and put them in another freezer bag. Put both bags in the freezer and leave them there until completely frozen. Once the fruit is frozen, add it to a food processor. Squeeze the juice out of half a lime and add the 150ml of Sprite and blend until completely mixed. Pour the mixture out onto a tray and freeze again for two hours. Take a couple of scoops from the tray and serve in a bowl. Finish by grating some lime zest on top.
